ITIL Certification

ITIL Certification which stands for Information Technology Infrastructure Library, is today’s most used IT service delivery management system.

ITIL has created a service lifecycle model that allocates specific activities and processes to the design, development, delivery, and support of IT services.

In the context of ITIL Certification, an IT service is any IT activity that involves delivering business value to a company’s end-users, customers, and stakeholders.

IT services can include corporate websites, centralized email, servers, network administration, and another back-end IT procedures.

Businesses use the ITIL service framework to ensure that their solutions and services are delivered by well-defined, consistent processes that adhere to industry best practices.

ITIL provides various advantages to businesses, including lower service deployment and development costs, increased customer happiness, higher productivity through IT staff, better management metrics, enhanced quality, and greater business agility in a dynamic global market.

ITIL Certification Roadmap

In July 2013, Axelos took over ownership of ITIL. It is now in charge of keeping the ITIL framework up-to-date and accrediting centers for training and exams. In addition, many ITIL ATOs (accredited training organizations) assist in training professionals to use ITIL solutions.

After the training course, these ATOs issue ITIL certifications to qualified candidates. These certifications can also be delivered by an EI (Examination Institute), most of which work directly with ATOs.

ITIL certification is available at five levels.

  • Foundation
  • Practitioner
  • Intermediate
  • Expert
  • Master

You should know that ITIL is based on a credit system that ranges from foundational to expert. Each certification level grants you a certain number of credits, which increase over time. For example, to apply for the ITIL Expert level certification, you must have 22 credits.

ITIL 4 Certification Roadmap

The ITIL 4 certification path is similar to the ITIL V3 system that came before it.

It has been simplified; now, there are only two paths to certification, with seven modules each. You will begin at the Foundation level and progress to either the Strategic Leader (SL) or Managing Professional (MP) certification paths.

Candidates might stop at this level or continue to the next. In the second case, you can apply for the ITIL Master certification.

ITIL Foundation Certification

You must first pass the ITIL Foundation-level module, regardless of what certification you want. This is the initial certification test, which covers the basic ideas and concepts of ITIL 4.

This module is for entry-level candidates and is meant to teach them the basics of ITIL 4 and ensure that advanced certification holders know the core ideas of the tech framework as they move up their certification paths.

The Prince2 course necessitates a 2.5-day classroom training session. After finishing this course, you must pass a test with 40 multiple-choice questions and 26 correct answers.

ITIL Master Practitioner

The Managing Professional certification is for IT workers in charge of technology and digital teams in their companies. ITIL Master Practitioner includes all the technical and practical skills needed to manage IT projects, workflows, and groups.

There is a list of modules that you must study to pass the certification exam. These are the following:

ITIL Specialist:

Create, Deliver, and Support: This module teaches applicants the fundamental concepts of service management, as well as methodologies for service quality, performance, and improvement. This course is for people who work in ITSM and deliver IT products and services from beginning to end.

ITIL specialists drive stakeholder value:

The second module includes interactions and engagement between customers, suppliers, partners, users, and service providers. SLA design, communication, multi-supplier management, CX and UX design, customer journey mapping, and relationship management are all covered.
